THINK TANK “WOMEN ON ECOLOGICAL AND DEMOCRATIC FOOTPRINT

DAB-Colleagues and friends from other Womens' organisations will meet again February 17th – 19th 2012  in Duderstadt near Göttingen, Lower Saxony, for a Think Tank Session on "The Ecologial and Democratical Footprint".

This Think Tank aims at promoting sustainability in both ecology and politics. This will be examined individually by the concept of the Ecological footprint - which ressources are needed for the personal lifestyle of each of us? - or company-wise with concepts like implementing "cradle to cradle".

Does it make sense? Is there something to be changed for good? Also some thesises and books will be discussed, like Stiglitz' classic "Globalization and it's discontents" (Die Schatten der Globalisierung) and Susanne Schmidt's book "Markt ohne Moral. Das Versagen der internationalen Finanzelite" (Market without morals).

The effects of the Financial Crisis on Europe and the diminishing of the European Idea is a topic, leading to current threats of Democracy. Also it shall be asked how to build a transparent and morally integre society, and another contribution is on the role of New Media and the Work of the Media Commission of the Women Council of Bavaria.
