This is an invitation to the Meeting of the UWE European Project on Friday morning, 29th of September 2006 in the City Council of the Hague.

From 9.00 AM on coffee and tea will be served. We start at 9.30 AM sharp.The rest of the program will be communicated in your Conference papers.

Agenda for the Meeting

• Opening by Cynthia Ringeling, president of the Steering Group of the UWE-EP
• Reports of sub-projects moderated by Audrey Kühler-Oostra, secretary of the Steering Group (about 20 minutes each)
  • the Finnish Mentorship program
  • the Croatian sub-project: Social re-integration of female and children landmine victims
  • Older Women in Europe, ideas for a new sub-project and discussion how to proceed
• Other matters and Conclusion.This will be the last activity of the VVAO UWE-EP Steering Group. The Finnish Association has offered to take over from us.

To save meeting time I inform you of these matters:

• Recently the VVAO sent round a questionnaire to all CERS to collect data on the different ways of attracting and keeping new members. Please mail your answers about best practises and encountered obstacles soon to Marjo Krijn (krijn@iae.nl) or Regina van Oorsouw (reginavanoorsouw@hotmail.com) on the given excelpage.
• The Swiss Geneva branch has started a new project on girl's public speaking: it is called ''lunches de l' AGFDU'', every first Tuesday of the month. The aim is to give the opportunity to young women (members or not) to present their research or thesis project to the members of AGFDU's branch and of course this can be good for public relations.The Young Members of the VVAO have thought of organizing a Debating Workshop with a Jury.
• Thanks to Leigh Bradford Ratteree of IFUW and Claire Desaint from AFFDU, Laura Pitulice's UWE website design works. It can be used for posting scientific publications/activities of our membership but it needs to be updated more regularly. Now that Leigh has become Secretary General of the IFUW, Anamaria Vere will be handling most of the website work. We need to decide in the UWE AGM in the afternoon of September 29th who will be responsible for updates. Please inform me by email (akoadam@planet.nl) of your ideas on this matter.
