IFUW Per Capita Dues

  • All national federations and associations must pay annual dues to IFUW at a per capita rate fixed by the IFUW Conference.  The amount of dues is reviewed at every Conference.
  • The per capita rate is currently 18 Swiss francs.
  • Annual dues are payable on 1 January and are calculated on the basis of the number of members of the national federation or association at the date of the closure of its financial year immediately preceding the beginning of the financial year of IFUW.
  • The per capita dues are calculated according to a formula approved by Council, which takes into account membership numbers, the gross national income (GNI) of each country and the Human Development Index (HDI):

x =( (2 x Ln(GNI per capita)) – Ln(Membership) ) x HDI

If x is less than 5, the per capita dues are 3 Swiss francs per member

If x is 5 or less than 6.5, the per capita dues are 5.5 Swiss francs per member

If x is 6.5 or less than 8, the per capita dues are 8 Swiss francs per member

If x is 8 or less than 9.5, the per capita dues are 10.5 Swiss francs per member

If x is 9.5 or less than 11, the per capita dues are 13 Swiss francs per member

If x is 11 or less than 12.5, the per capita dues are 15.5 Swiss francs per member

If x is 12.5 or greater, the per capita dues are 18 Swiss francs per member

Note: Ln = logarithm
GNI = Gross National Income

Membership = Number of paid-up members in accordance with By-law 33
HDI = Human Development Index

  • In the event of an appreciable change in the rate of exchange between the currency of the Headquarters’ country and the currency of the country of a national federation or association, the Board of Officers may grant alleviation of full dues based on the percentage of depreciation between the two currencies during the year.  This alleviation shall not exceed 60% of full dues.  The Board must report such alleviaiton to the Council.
