- Organise a training session on the effective use of media to publicise sustainability issues and what needs to be done about them;
- Campaign for women’s right to access clean water and food;
- Advocate for renewable energy production and use;
- Encourage higher education studies in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and network with other NGOs and community groups to support existing projects and programmes;
- Identify a local natural feature or species of animal or plant that is threatened by development, climate change etc and create public awareness of the issue, devise and act on a strategy to preserve it;
- Organise workshops on land status, land use and existing inheritance laws or local practises to identify any ways in which these discriminate against women and suggest steps to be taken
- Try to extend the cultural diversity of your NFA membership or form links with organisations representing women from other backgrounds, such as immigrant or refugee women;
- As a contribution to reducing the impact of excessive population growth, lobby for services to avert unwanted teenage pregnancies and to allow families, especially women, to exercise their judgement on sustainable family numbers.
