Selected Major UN Human Rights Conventions

Each of these Conventions has a specific UN Committee responsible for monitoring its implementation, while the Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees is overseen by the High Commissioner for Refugees. In 2006 the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities was opened for signatures, and the Convention on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples was adopted by by the UN General Assembly in September 2007.

• The Human Rights Resource Center of the University of Minnesota Human Rights Center works in partnership with the University of Minnesota Human Rights Library to support the World Programme for Human Rights Education (2005-2007) and the United Nations Decade for Human Rights Education (1995-2004).
