Description
Raise awareness and understanding and create opportunities through ongoing formal and informal education for women and girls to become literate, knowledgeable and independent and take an equal role in leadership and decision-making in both individual and public life.

Possible NFA Actions:
- Encourage higher education studies amongst women by identifying barriers to education at the primary and secondary levels and advocating for their removal;
- Identify corporations, businesses, organizations, and foundations, which provide funding, endowments and donations for scholarships for women and publicise information to members;
- Fund raise to provide awards and scholarships to assist women to access further or second chance training;
- Organise training for members on mentoring techniques with the purpose of providing mentoring partnerships for postgraduate students and lower-level academic staff, and other potential women leaders;
- For purposes of advocacy for gender equality, conduct research and gather statistics on existing education, employment and leadership positions to determine gender ratios and identify bias in organized and unorganised sectors;
- Promote affordable childcare to enable women to move out of poverty and into worthwhile careers;
- Collect evidence-based data and research discrimination practiced against women for an NGO ‘shadow’ report when your country is due to report to the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).
