United Nations Development Fund for women - UNIFEM: focuses
on gender equality and the millennium development goals; women, war
and peace and gender and HIV/AIDS; the site includes links to UNIFEM
regional sites, many of which have information on UNIFEM’s work

- UNESCO:
is the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
The UNESCO web site portal provides considerable information of particular
interest to IFUW as one of the 6 themes of the web site is Education.
The other themes are Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Culture, Communication
and Information and Special Focus. The Special Focus features HIV/Aids
and Sustainable Development. Material is available in French, Spanish,

- UNDP:
is the United Nations Development Program. The UNDP site
is a valuable resource as it is the link to many UN programs and agencies.
Reports such as Report on Democracy in Latin America; Human Development
Report 2003; and Africa 2015 are available. Check out the Knowledge

Club of Rome: The
Club of Rome is a global think tank and centre of innovation and initiative.
As a non-profit, non governmental organisation (NGO), it brings together
scientists, economists, businessmen, international high civil servants,
heads of state and former heads of state from all five continents who
are convinced that the future of humankind is not determined once and
for all and that each human being can contribute to the improvement
of our societies. Reports can be ordered for a charge. The links section
offers some interesting suggestions regarding global governance. Information
