IFUW Empowering Women Poster Competition 2009
The International Federation of University Women held an art competition in 2009 with the aim of raising awareness of the challenges facing women and girls in accessing education and leadership positions in today’s world.
The artists were given the following themes: education for the girl child, adult literacy for women, gender equality in higher education, empowering women for leadership and decision-making, or gender equality and peace. The competition was open to IFUW members and other artists proposed by IFUW’s national federations and associations (NFAs).
