| Goals for this position and the contribution you believe you can personally make if elected or appointed |
I have been committed to
IFUW's goals for 15 years, since joining in 1996 in my early
thirties. I think there are important changes due to take
place, according to issues regarding women in the world
as well as for IFUW itself.
I am committed, if chosen, to attend all meetings, to fully
contribute to all matters and to take responsibility for
a portion of work of the Committee.
I am well organised and shall work regularly throughout
the 3 years, reading and reviewing documents, bringing new
resources as appropriate, preparing reports and communicating
regularly and promptly with other members by email.
One of my strenghts is my ability to identify key and evolving
issues and key stake holders in order to bring our views
to the top of the agenda.
My usual way of working is, if I summarize abruptly, to
spend approximately as much time on the intellectual content
as on: "who to bring it to" or:
at the same time gathering or writing good and legible evidenced-based
documents and establishing good working relationships with
a variety of people and organizations in both public and
private sectors.
I believe in influencing by convincing with good material.
The dissemination of knowledge about Status of Women issues
could be increased in our own federation itself, then by
its members throughout each country. There is still too
much non sense around- in issues regarding IFUW that is-
that should vanish in the 21st century. The best way to
do it I believe is by stating issues in a very calm and
professional way, to be trusted as a reliable source of
information by a wide network.
My employers and
associations have usually recruited and congratulated me
for my initiative and my ability to carry out new activities
from start to finish.
I want to work closely with NFAs and regional groups to
promote projecst and activities at national and local levels.
I am very experienced in coordinating interdisciplinary
seminars and workshops at Conferences, as well as at marketing
the best projects so they become best practice examples.
