Experience assessing doctoral and postdoctoral academic research proposals:

I had the opportunity to assess varous research projects and proposals in the course of my own academic career. Since 2004, I am a member of the Swiss association of university women fellowships committee, which implies assessing several dozens of proposals per year and selecting up to 5 for funding .  Since 2007, I have also served on the IFUW fellowships committee and had a very rich and valuable experience while working with the fellow committee members on the selection of grant recipients.

- Help to support and promote outstanding candidates so that they can pursue their post-graduate research in good academic conditions

-Offer my expertise related to academic awards (criterias, evaluation etc) to the IFUW board

Personal contributions:

If elected as a Committee member I would like to make the Committee benefit from:

-Research experience in the field of Higher Education, Academic Migrations and Women's History

-Good knowledge of various national and international research funding opportunities which I could advise to the candidates not selected for the IFUW fellowships

-Familiarity with the evaluation procedure of grant or fellowship applications (personal experience, as a scholar and member of the Fellowships Foundation of the Swiss Association of University Women)

How would you promote sponsorship for and donations to the International Fellowships?

I would try to make these fellowships more visible for the members of the Swiss Association of University Women through the following actions:

-articles in newsletters and bulletins presenting the fellowships and their recipients

-contacts with eventual receipents coming from or arriving in Switzerland

-presention of the International fellowships at local and national gatherings of the Swiss Association of University Women
