Professional Field and/or Present Occupation Chartered Accountant - Executive/Chief Accontant with an industrial group for 15 years and thereafter Financial Controller and Finance Director with Pantours Pvt. Ltd. - GSA Pan American World Airways (PANAM) for 10 years.  Currently in practice - (devoting around 10% of my time) as Partner of Tarapore and Co. Chartered Accountants.  For over 15 yeras 90% of my time is devoted to various NGOs.
Skills and experience from the last 10 years which qualify her for this position

Academic and practical experience in legal and financial fields for over 30 years i.e. accounts, audit of shipping, manufacturing, insurance and other corporations, partnership management information statements, budgets, project appraisal, scrutinizing and finalisation of legal agreements etc

First lady to be elected and served as Chairman and Hon. Secretary of the Western India Regional Council (WIRC) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

Life member of Mumbai UWA (Women Graduates Union - WGU) - where I was Vice President and President.  I am still on the Membership, Finance and other Committees.  As Association Representative of WGU to IFUWA, attended Central Committee Meetings of IFUWA held in various cities in India.  At present I am the Hon. Secretary of the Indian Federation of University Women's Associations (IFUWA) and of the IFUWA Conference Committee.

Past President (past Hon. Treasurer and past Vice President) of Haharashtra State Women's Council.  Also served on all its Committees including Finance Committee (for last 10 years.) Was also on the Executive Board of the National Council of Women in India.

Maharashtra State Branch of Indian Council of Social Welfare - Life Member and a Vice President since the last 5 years.

Shilpi Kendra is an organisation which promotes Indian crafts and uplifment of craftpersons in the Indian Villages.  Life member and continue to be its Hon. Treasurer.

Zonta International (ZI) - Past President (past Trustee, Hon. Secretary, Hon Treasurer) of Bombay Zonta Club.  At present on its Board and Chairman of Finance, Intercity and Z Club Committees.

At district level was Hon. Treasurer of District 25 (ZI) and Chairman of District Nominating Committee.  Served on various other District Committees from time to time.  Presently Chairman, Z Club Committee.
Goals for the position and the contribution the candidate believes she can personally make if elected or appointed To contribute to IFUW, my expertise and experience of nearly 40 years in the field of law, audit, tax and finance as well as with various NGOS, particularly UWA Mumbai and in the Indian Federation (IFUWA). From various e-mails received, there is a lot I can contribute to IFUW's working in this field, particularly regarding the fee structure bearing in mind the cost/benefit factor. Finance id one of the pillars for any Institution particularly MGOs. My organizational skills, legal training, systematic way of working, patience, good command of the English languae, ability to analyze facts and figures and passion to take on new challenges will be useful to IFUW. I also believe in finding solutions and where necessary compromise, examine suggestions with an open mind and work as a team.
Once I undertake a position, I give of my best, take my responsibilities seriously and am fully committed. I am practical in my outlook, ready for change where needed, with forward looking attitude to the Federation's work.
