Professional Field and/or Present Occupation Governor of University of Edinburgh - fifth year of an eight-year appointment - serving on the University Court and many of its sub-committees
Skills and experience from the last 10 years which qualify her for this position

Currently Scottish Executive Liaison Officer for the British Federation serving on its Executive in London, a member of the Scottish Standing Committee of the Federation in Scotland, previously Regional Representative and Public Affairs Consultant for Scotland on BFWG Executive.

Currently a member of the Steering Group of the Scottish Women's Convention representing Women's Issues to the Scottish Executive, arranging the celebrations of International Women's Day for Scotland and representing the Federation at committees of the Scottish Parliament.  This gives me the opportunity to communicate effectively for the Federation in Scotland, increase its public profile and provide advice on women's issues to those in authority and so effecting positive change.

I also have experience in chairing focus groups, writing reports and organising conferences.

I am a lay member of the National Appeal Panel for Pharmaceutical Services in Scotland using my skills to communicate, assess information and write reports.  I am also a memer of many local community committees.

I have attended the two most recent University Women of Europe Conferences in Cork and The Hague and have attended the IFUW Conference in Yokohama and led a workshop at the IFUW Conference in Ottawa.  I look forward to the IFUW Conference in Manchester.

Goals for the position and the contribution the candidate believes she can personally make if elected or appointed

I am committed to and enthusiastic about IFUW and its potential for meeting challenges in today's world.  I am convinced that IFUW Resolutions contribute effectively to meeting these challenges and I am eager to participate in forming clear wording to ensure that Resolutions reflect the sentiments and ideals of IFUW and can be used to effect real change to better the lives of women worldwide.

I have been a member of IFUW Resolutions Committee for one term and I have enjoyed communicating frequently with my fellow members by e-mail and contributing to the work of this committee.  I have met two members personally during this time.   I have the time to participate actively on the Resolutions Committee and I would look forward to continuing my contribution in this area.
