Goals for this position and the contribution you believe you can personally make if elected or appointed |
· The IFUW's core mission, as its name suggests,
is to promote education and research for girls and women.
The drift away from this foundational goal, the key to advancing
women's opportunities, status and power in all societies
must be replaced by determined and unrelenting focus on
EDUCATION, EDUCATION, EDUCATION.
· Campaign involving all NFAs to jointly lobby their
governments, parliaments, UN agencies, the World Bank, IMF
and the European Union to make good on former promises to
improve educational opportunities for girls and women and
provide documentation.
To do this, I believe it will be very important, even crucial,
to try to enlist the support and endorsement of some women
of high profile and international stature, e.g., prominent
women scientists and Nobel laureates, politicians and humanitarians. |
