Expertise
in controlling in globally acting corporations. Currently
working as a freelancer in project management
|
| Skills
and experience from the last 10 years which qualify her for this position |
Professional
experience:
The work in the controlling field trained me for a quite structured
approach to work in general. In my previous company I had to deal
with international contacts. This trained both my language skills
and broadened my views towards different cultures and ways to interact.
Volunteer work:
The work as a member of the city council of my home town and as
a member of various committees therein has given me a broad experience
in work for institutions ( and trained patience which is not one
of my natural talents). Being on the board of my regional branch
in Rhein-Neckar-Dreieck, I have organised local events. As
Convener of the International Committee in Germany (we do not have
an official CIR), I started to get involved on an international
level last year. We managed to apply to hold three workshops
in Manchester. In order to get a better insight in IFUW I
went to The Hague in the fall of 2006 and to Geneva in February
2007.
Language skills:
During the UWE conference in The Hague I stated that my language
skills are above average. I consider this as a major prerequisite
to work in an international organisation.
General skills:
I was told that one of my major skills is that I am quite self motivated
and willing to pursue an objective consistently and not to give
up easily under unfavourable circumstance

for the position and the contribution the candidate believes she can
personally make if elected or appointed |
Given
tasks:
I would like to participate in the work of the committee as it is
defined on the website. and I would like to work for projects suggested
by others.
Perspective:
Additionally, I am interested to make the IFUW better known both
in Germany and in other countries.
To illustrate our international work a short, regular newsletter,
that updates on current IFUW activities and presents different projects
can inform the CIRs which could then translate it and forward in
their countries.
Together with the Status of Women Committee our Committee can define
the the form, frequency, style, length etc. of the newsletter in
order to meet needs and wishes of our members all over the world.
Another aspect is the further promotion of our website activities.
In order to make the website better known we can develop programs
on how to spread the information most effiectively. An example is
to address the leaders of each regional group in a country directly
and to present to them the IFUW website activities. This can for
example be done by the CIRs in form of a personal presentation at
National meeting. Then the heads of the groups are asked to spread
the news at their regional meetings. |
