FFUW Delegate to the FIWU Delegation of UN Commission on Status
of Women 49th Meeting in 2005 and 50th Meeting in 2006
Initiator of the First International Helvi SIPILÄ Seminar on
"POWER IN HER HANDS" at the UN CSW-50 in New York City,
March 2nd, 2006. (note: the FFUW Honorary Member, Minister Helvi
Sipilä female UN Under-Secretary General in the 1970s).
Initiator and organiser fo the Turku joint venture of 7 women´s
organisations in Turku-Åbo for local fund raising to support
the international Project Five-O since 2002. Our seminars have been
arranged on women´s issues on the International women´s
Day, March 8th, annually since 2003 in Turku-Åbo.

For
IFUW the most important issue for survival is institutional members
- NFAS and their individual members all over the globe.
INCREASE PUBLICITY and INCOME-GENERATING MEMBERSIP GROWTH:
If elected my future voluntary work will promote intergenerational,
interregional, intercultural and multilingual interaction and friendship
in the 21st century.
To market and generate interest of individual and potential university
graduate women in many more countries and support the current membership
to stay and become active in their own NFAs.
Advance the NGO work of the IFUW as a major NGO and GLOCAL(=Global+Local)
actor in the UN and its agencies to benefit all and each individual
women members.
EFFECTIVE PROGRAMMES:
As a team member of the IFUW Membership Committee I shall focus
on the local and global organisational knowhow and opening the knots
at all times.
Sisters of IFUW university women, together we shall create friendships
and look for understanding within the network of university graduate
women under the umbrella of IFUW and together we will survive the
many challenges threatening our existence.
