Director of an international NGO since 1997

The experience that I have had in the positions listed above qualify me for to be an IFUW Vice President. In addition to the serving as the Convener of an IFUW Committee, I have had had experience with the problems of running an international NGO which has no regular dues income and am therefore familiar with the problems that IFUW encounters on a day-to-day basis. As the BFWG Treasurer I have to deal with the financial implications of a diminishing membership but at the same time I have many years experience in raising funding for projects and programmes, a direction in which IFUW should move for its ultimate survival. The combination of my experiences in my professional and volunteer lives gives me a unique advantage to assist IFUW in the directions it must go in the years ahead.

I am also in a position to be ab le to assist IFUW in its relations with the UN, insofar as I regularly meet and work with various bodies within the UN system at the UN and national levels , particularly in developing countries.
Goals for the position and the contribution the candidate believes she can personally make if elected or appointed My goal ,if elected,to the positon, is to work to help to move IFUW in a new direction which will build on the rich experience that it has gained over the past years, but which will equip the organization to deal with the challenges ahead by exploring new ways of working, using the experience I have gained over the past years.

Ultimately my goal is to ensure that IFUW is a vibrant organization with the capacity to increase its influence in the years ahead.
