1995, Graz 1998, Ottawa 2001, Perth 2005 & planning to attend
Manchester 2007.
3. Attended 80th Anniversary Celebration in Geneva 2000, BFWG National
Conference & 66th National AGM in Winchester 2000.
4. Attended IFUW Board & Committee Meeting as an Observer in Geneva
2002 & 2004.
5. Organized the Friendship Week in Egypt FWE (10-18 February 2005)
for EAUW, Cairo Branch. Thirty Nine IFUW members from 8 countries
attended it, of which 4 extended to the Post FWE (18-25 February 2005)
in Hurghada & Sharm El-Sheikh.
6. Organized the Japanese Delegation Dinner Party for EAUW, Cairo
Branch on 12/11/2005 at Cairo's Diplomatic Club. The Delegation –
which included IFUW's Past President – was officially invited
by the National Council for Motherhood & Childhood in Egypt.
7. Presented two Papers at Interdisciplinary Seminars in Ottawa 2001
& Perth 2004 about Projects I was involved with at the National
Level.

Lebanon 2002 & Dubai 2005.

of the International Committee 2005-2006, and member of that Committee

* Community Volunteer Experience
1. EAUW – Cairo Branch Projects:
a) Training Young College Graduates for Eldercare in Cairo (1999 -2001).
b) Environmental Education for School Children in Cairo (2005 –
2006).
2. Al-Mansouria Rotary Club – Cairo Projects:
a) Needs Project – Capacity Building for Abdel Sammad Village
in Cairo (10,000 inhabitants) since 2002.
b) Potable Water Supply – House Connection Project for 75 houses
in Abdel Sammad Village, 2004; in conjunction with the Social Fund
for Development SFD in Cairo.
c) Eye Cure Project also for inhabitants of Abdel Sammad Village,
in conjunction with Ain Shams University. The Project included Eye
Operations & Eyeglasses supply, 2006.

Goals
1. Direct involvement in the planning of action themes, programs,
seminars and workshops for IFUW related to current issues serving
NFA's all over the world.
2. Contact with other International Organizations through IFUW broadens
my perspectives on various issues vital to status of women around
the world.
3. Promotion of status of women in Egypt through direct implementation
of programs & projects set by IFUW's Committee. Vital issues in
Egypt include Women's Human Rights, Education, Health Care, Working
Conditions and Voting Rights … etc.
4. Formation of a Status of Women Committee on the local level to
work parallel to that of IFUW on related issues.
* Contribution
1. Direct contact on the local level with the two major Councils representing
Women in Egypt: National Council for Women (NCW) and the National
Council for Motherhood and Childhood (NCMC), both under the presidency
of Egypt's First Lady.
2. Access to both Councils' Research and Statistics will provide me
with the necessary information on the status of women in Egypt to
be made available to IFUW's Committee.
3. Contact with other active NGOs on the international and local levels
when needed, whether by traveling to attend necessary meetings or
through the internet.
4. Networking with other Committee Members and International Organizations
through the Internet in order to prepare the necessary material for
IFUW's Website.
