A. PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT...
1- Local Level:
a) Training Young College Graduates for Eldercare Project,
Cairo (1999-2001).
b) Environmental Education for School Children in Cairo
(2005-2006).
c) Capacity Building for AbdelSammad Village in Cairo since
2002.
d) Membership Dev. for Young Members to join Cairo Branch.
A total of 10 New Young Members joined EAUW: 5 in 1/12009
& another 5 in 1/1/2010. This is the FUTURE on
both the Local & Int. Levels. Young members have a Vision
to move forward .
e) Illiteracy Eradication for Women & Girls in Cairo.
This Project started in October 2009 with 5 new young members
envolved.
2- National Level:
"Illiteracy Eradication Project for Women & Girls
in Cairo" is also a National Level Program as it's
a Top Priority Issue in Egypt with the Official High Illiteracy
Rates of 25% of the Total Population !!!!!
3- International Level:
a) Pre-Conference Consultations for IFUW's PfA (2010-2013).
b) Best Practise Program for Egypt will be sent to IFUW
by its Deadline of 30/4/2010. This Illiteracy Eradication
Project can then be used by other NFAs if it suits their
Priorities, for Developing Countries with similar Severe
Problems.
c) "Friendship Week in Egypt" for IFUW Members
in February 2005. 39 Members from 8 Countries attended the
Program.
d) Japanese Delegation Dinner Gathering in November 2005.
The Delegation included IFUW's Past President (2001-2004)
at Cairo's Diplomatic Club.
B. RESEARCH & RESOURCE MATERIAL PREPARATION...
1- EAUW Cairo Branch's Brochures in Arabic & English.
2- UNESCO (ARCHE+10) Conference Report sent to IFUW's HQ
end of June 2009 after attending the Conference in Cairo
as part of IFUW's Delegation (May 30-June 2, 2009). The
Report is on IFUW's website.
3- Illiteracy Eradication Project for Women & Girls
in Cairo Reports sent to IFUW's HQ regularly since starting
the Project in October 2009. A mid-term Report will be sent
by 31/3/2010, & a Final Report at the end of the Project
in June 2010. The Project being a BRPID Project is on IFUW's
website.
4- Research was made to attend CEDAW's 30th Anniversary
Meeting in Geneva, Jan. 2010. Egypt was discussed
on 28/1/2010. So, I was planning to attend as part of IFUW's
Delegation. I reviewed Egypt's Development on the Issue
of Elimination of Discrimination agaist Women (2000-2010)
presented by our National Council for Women.
C. ORGANIZATION OF SEMINARS & WORKSHOPS...
1- Assisting in the "Young Leadership Training Workshop"
in Cairo Branch - March 2008.
2- Organizing Seminars for Cairo Branch. Examples:
a) " Illiteracy Eradication Project" Team Evaluation
tomorrow Saturday 6/2/2010.
b) "Employment Opportunities for Faculty of Engineering,
Cairo University Graduates" - Dec. 2009.
c) "The Informal Sector in Cairo & the Development
Process" - 2008.
d) "Environmental Education for School Children in
Cairo" - 2006. |

Goals for this position and the contribution you believe you can personally make if elected or appointed |
1- Continuing to serve as SWC Member gaining experience
for another 3 years within the framework of IFUW's Themes
& Priorities. This is of great help internally on the
Local & National Levels.
2- More contact with UN Agencies as it brodens my perspectives
about their work esp. those Agencies & Commissions linked
to IFUW's Themes & Priorities.
3- Promoting the Tasks of other Committes too: like adding
new Young Members in EAUW serves the Membership Committee.
4- Working on Priorities & Themes to fit & serve
Developing Countries in need of much help.
