| Skills
and experience from the last 10 years which qualify her for this position |
Study
and teaching of Political Science, have made me interested in Resolutions,
Laws, constitution and bye Laws and being a member of the Resolutions
Committee 1998-2001 and Convener Resolutions Committee 2004-2007,
qualifies me for this post for second term. Attending IFUW
Councils and Conferences since 1994 as an observer, delegate or
and official also has given me experience to do a good job at this
position.
I
am a Life Member of UWA Dehli since 1963 and have held most offices
at grass roots level in Delhi up to the President and have held
offices in the Indian Federation as a representative of UWA Delhi
in the Central Committee. At present, 2005-2008, I am Convener
of the Constitution Advisory Committee of our NFA.
My
work in All India Women's Conference and other community development
relations makes it possible for me to look at Resolutions work as
one very important function of IFUW and I am sure another term here
would be a good contribution from me to IFUW unless I can do something
better for IFUW elsewhere. IFUW at this juncture does need
people who believe in it, its utility and importance and I would
like to do my part as my health, finances, interest in travel, make
the work for IFUW enjoyable for me. And one works better if
one enjoys what one is doing. |
| Goals
for the position and the contribution the candidate believes she can
personally make if elected or appointed |
The
Resolutions Committee is doing its work reasonably well and I can
already see involvement of the Resolution Convener with the SWC from
now would be getting good results. I have been getting experience
of the two committees already. The Resolutions process is also
well established and any other member from the Resolutions Committee
can also perhaps carry this develoment further for the benefit of
IFUW. I am sure I can carry the Resolutions Committee further
into getting more involvement from the NFAs. Perhaps I feel
my patience, temperament and tenacity is what works here and can get
results here as well as in any other relationships that I form.
It is a kind of work culture which needs to be at different levels
of IFUW, I have it and have been able to get the support and cooperation
in this committee for our work. |
