Goals for this position and the contribution you believe you can personally make if elected or appointed

To assist in the maintenance of a sound financial basis upon which IFUW can rely, in the pursuit of its objectives. My 40 years professional experience in the field of finance in one form or another would be available to the Finance Committee.

What ideas do you have for how IFUW could attract outside funding?

My past experience has proved that it is no use expecting anyone/ any organisation, to provide external funding per se, without a specific project in view. General funding really has to come from IFUW members who are considered by many Funding Bodies to be privileged people anyway.
To obtain external funding on behalf of IFUW, the Federation would, in my view, need to come up with a worthwhile project, the future benefits of which could be demonstrated to exist. The necessary research would have to be thoroughly undertaken, all possible questions foreseen and answered, and appropriate sources of funding ascertained and located. The project would need to be closely, thoroughly and realistically costed. The timescale over which input of money would be required should be spelled out and the arrangements for monitoring the project specified. Only then, should relevant outside bodies be approached.
