Goals for this position and the contribution you believe you can personally make if elected or appointed |
IFUW, an academic and advocacy
organization that has spread its wings all over needs to
be assisted further through innovative and constructive
ideas related to education, socio-economic and political
aspects. We need to focus as to what more we can do for
women's status as a global concern. Strategic planning with
more dynamism that will enhance and secure women's empowerment
is to be considered a thrust area. The Status of Women Committee
needs to formulate plans and constructive measures that
will better the educational and economic conditions for
women all over. Areas where we need to focus are women's
financial literacy, reproductive health, consideration for
the geriatrics, protection of Mother Earth and concern for
the physically and mentally challenged women underprivileged
or otherwise.
My
goal would be to try and strengthen IFUW in all these endeavors.
Ever since its inception, IFUW has traveled a long way with
an effort to empower women in multiple ways. I will try
to contribute with ideas and a vision to make empowered
women agents who will bring in better harmonious and peaceful
living on an equal footing with men. My mission will be
to study, formulate Action research oriented programmes,
believe and profess in global networking and build up team
functioning strategies to help resolve if possible the myriads
of issues that are confronting women. It will be my task
to motivate educated women to build up advocacy groups in
their own countries and create awareness programmes to help
women. Encouraging and involving young aspiring members
in leadership capacities to bring about the necessary changes
and improvements will be my priority. Lastly I would take
to democratically accepted styles of functioning to accommodate
individual and group decisions.
