IFUW E-mail Discussions
IFUW holds regular, thematic e-mail discussions, each lasting for approximately one month. These discussions allow IFUW members from around the globe to share experiences and information on subjects of interest to university women. Recent discussion topics have included: Quality education, Developments in higher education and their implications for women graduates, Access to affordable universal primary education, and HIV/AIDS.
Women & Wealth, 8 - 28 June 2009
In 1997 it was estimated that nearly 70% of the world’s 1.3 billion poor people were women. Whatever the wealth of a nation, women as a group have a smaller portion of that national wealth than men as a group. In the course of this discussion, we will invite IFUW members to contribute to the store of knowledge about women and their relationship to wealth (and poverty) by sharing their knowledge and experiences.

IFUW Higher Education Network, February - June 2009
This network will link professors, lecturers, researchers, women active in higher education governance, and others interested in issues concerning women in higher education. From February through June 2009, the network will offer members an opportunity to share concerns, ideas, experience and information to help prepare IFUW's participation in the 2009 World Conference on Higher Education. IFUW has been asked to contribute on two themes: "Equity, Access and Quality: Women in Higher Education Governance" and bringing a gender perspective to "The contribution of higher education to a sustainable future through education, research and innovation". Members interested in joining the network are asked to
by sending a message stating their name, city, country and national affiliate (or independent member number).
IFUW Member Networks
IFUW Member Networks offer members opportunities to discuss issues, share information and make personal contacts with other IFUW members throughout the world.
The e-mail networks are open to any IFUW member with e-mail access. Each has a different focus. Some look at issue areas (Advocacy, Projects & Environment); other target specific age groups (Young Members & Next Generation).
To join a network, please fill in the subscription form.
Members may subscribe to as many networks as they wish.
Each network has a moderator who stimulates discussion and reviews
messages to remove viruses and spam. PlantageNet, a private company
in the USA, provides technical support, computer space and software
necessary to support these networks as a free, public service
to IFUW. For problems subscribing or sending messages to a network
please contact networks@ifuw.org.
