With excitement and pleasure I invite you to join in our 30th Triennial Conference in Mexico City from the 5th to 9th of August in 2010. What an opportunity to experience the depth of history, culture and colour of Mexico, and also to celebrate our triennium past and plan for the future ahead. Put the dates in your diary now.
Our theme is Education, Empowerment and Development. These are key concerns for us all and interdependent too.
Plan now to participate with workshops, seminars, business sessions, informal plaza dialogue with like minds. Share your experiences and planning for the future growth, and development of IFUW. Dear Friends,
The Mexican Federation is pleased that the 30th
Triennial IFUW Conference will be celebrated in
our country in 2010. This is a very significant year
for us, during which we will commemorate our
200th year of independence, as well as the 100
year anniversary of Mexico's social revolution, the
first of the 20th century. Two hundred years ago
we fought for the liberty of a nation and one
hundred years ago for its social rights. Mexico was
the first country to include social rights in its
constitution, the Constitution of 1917, which is in
effect today.
The themes of the Conference are critical to all the nations of the world. They
highlight the importance of women's empowerment through life-long learning,
which can lead to development around the globe.
We await you with great enthusiasm and affection. We are sure that your
participation in the Conference will be enriching and we are committed to
ensuring your stay with us is unforgettable.

Format of the Conference
'Education, Empowerment and Development' will be the overall theme for the 30th IFUW Conference. This overall theme will be broken down into four conference themes that will be explored over the course of two days in plenary sessions, interdisciplinary seminars and workshops. Conference participants will have a choice of two themes on each day.
The thematic days will open with a speaker or panel of speakers for each of that day's themes. This will be followed by three interdisciplinary seminars for each theme - two in English and one in Spanish. In the afternoon there will be five workshops (one in Spanish), which will provide an opportunity to examine the themes in a more interactive environment. Each day's activities will be summed in a plenary session for each theme.
