IFUW-wide celebration
of International Women's Day
No enduring solution to society's most threatening social, economic and political problems can be found without the full participation, and the full empowerment, of the world's women. International Women’s Day (IWD) is a time to celebrate the economic, social, economic, cultural and political advances made by women.
IFUW national federations and associations, branches and members were all encouraged to celebrate IWD 2007 by organizing a special activity for 8 March. IFUW suggested that activities centre on the elimination of all forms of discrimination and violence against the girl child, the 2007 theme of the Commission on the Status of Women.
