Arrange an event to mark International Women’s Day that addresses one of these objectives with emphasis on the girl-child. The examples of how International Women’s Day has been celebrated in the past may give you some ideas. You may decide to have several different events spread over a week around the 8 March.
Use this opportunity to strengthen your links with other women’s groups in your community. Consider working with one of our partner organizations e.g. UNIFEM, the National Council of Women, Zonta, Business and Professional Women, Soroptomists, or with an educational institution.
Consider making your activity a fund raising event for the IFUW Bina Roy Partners-in-Development Fund (BRPID).
Some countries already have traditions established for celebrating this Day. If you do not wish to organize your own event, why not join them.
