The Irish Federation of University Women
founded 1924
sharing the aims of the
International Federation of University Women
to promote lifelong education,
to improve the status of women and girls,
and to enable women to effect positive change for a peaceful, sustainable future
About the Federation

We are an all-Ireland federation of five associations in:
- Cork
- Dublin (2)
- Belfast
- Galway
Originally college-based groups of women alumni, our five branches now welcome women graduates of any recognised institution of higher education in the world. The branches organise local meetings and activities and combine to run a Public Speaking Competition for Girls aged 15 and an Annual Conference.
The Irish Federation of University Women acts independently and also through our representation on the National Women’s Council of Ireland and our affiliation to the University Women of Europe.
