IFUW Training Programme, 15-21 August 2013
“Capacity Building to take leadership roles in the local and wider community”
Although more women now benefit from higher education, there is still a low presence of women in leadership and decision making positions in local, national and global bodies. Women need to gain experience in leadership, which can start with leadership roles in their local communities and within their own national federations and associations. This will give them the experience and confidence to take leadership and decision making roles in the large community, academic world and business. This training programme will provide tools on “how to become a leader” to participants and present role models.
The training programme will open with a one-day workshop with key note speakers, a panel discussion and theme workshops on August 15 from 9:00 to 18:00, continue with parallel sessions throughout the Conference and finish with a half-day session on the afternoon of August 21. All sessions will take place in the main conference venue. More information on the registration procedure, available VGIF grants and the programme, click the Circular 2/2013.
