Japanese Association of University Women (JAUW)
International Fellowship

• Purpose: For independent research or advanced study on the post-graduate level in Japan.
• Amount: 500,000 to 1,000,000 yen. The amount granted will vary depending on the duration of stay in Japan and the nature of the work.
• Eligibility: Open to citizens of a country other than Japan with an academic degree equivalent to a bachelor’s degree, undertaking research or study in Japan for not less than three months between September 15, 2010 and March 31, 2011. Applicants must have a plan of study or research which will advance the applicant's professional competence and which must be carried out in Japan. The applicant must be accepted by a Japanese institution at which she propses to undertake study/research.
• Deadline: 20 April, 2010. The committee will not accept any applications or supporting documents that are submitted after the deadline.
• Documents & Materials to be submitted:
  1. Application Form duly filled in and signed.
  2. Three letters of recommendation written by persons who are well acquainted with the applicant's work. If she is a member of a National Federation or Association of IFUW, she may substitute one of the three persons with the president of her Federation or Association.
  3. A copy of the letter acceptance by the Japanese institution or other supporting documents.
  4. Summary of published works (articles, theses, books up to three) in English.
  5. Two photographs (passpot size) and medical certificate of health.
