IFUW Per Capita Dues

  • All national federations and associations must pay annual dues to IFUW at a per capita rate fixed by the IFUW Conference.  The amount of dues is reviewed at every Conference.
  • The per capita rate is currently 18 Swiss francs.
  • Annual dues are payable on 1 January and are calculated on the basis of the number of members of the national federation or association at the date of the closure of its financial year immediately preceding the beginning of the financial year of IFUW.
  • Beginning with the dues payable on 1 January 2009, the per capita dues will be calculated according to a formula approved by Council, which takes into account membership numbers and the gross national income (GNI) of each country:

    x = (2 x Ln(GNI per capita)) - Ln(Membership)
    If x is less than 7, the per capita rate is 3 Swiss francs per member
    If x is 7 or less than 8, the per capita rate is 5.5 Swiss francs per member
    If x is 8 or less than 9, the per capita rate is 8 Swiss francs per member
    If x is 9 or less than 10, the per capita rate is 10.5 Swiss francs per member
    If x is 10 or less than 11, the per capita rate is 13 Swiss francs per member
    If x is 11 or less than 12, the per capita rate is 15.5 Swiss francs per member
    If x is greater than or equal to 12, the per capita rate is 18 Swiss francs per member
    Note: Ln = logarithm, GNI = Gross National Income,
    and Membership = Number of paid-up members in accordance with By-law 33
  • In the event of an appreciable change in the rate of exchange between the currency of the Headquarters' country and the currency of the country of a national federation or association, the Board of Officers may grant alleviation of full dues based on the percentage of depreciation between the two currencies during the year.  This alleviation shall not exceed 60% of full dues.  The Board must report such alleviaiton to the Council.
  • As of 1 January 2009 the Bina Roy Partners in Development funding is no longer applicable to dues.
