2003
The Association succeeded
in overcoming the organizational and financial problems that
almost led to its
break-up. This was the reason why we did not take part in the
UWE Council in Bordeaux in France. Nevertheless, we proposed
a subproject for the EP,
the main topic of which was "Empowering
women to take power and control of problematic situations in
their society".
We plead for the care and rehabilitation, and social and economic
reintegration, of mine victims and for mine awareness programs.
We kindly ask all UWE and IFUW members to give us help in making
Croatia become equal to other European countries with regard
to this too, for by its geographical position, history and culture
it already belongs to them.
The finished, well argumented sub-project, advocating non-violence
in general, will be proposed at the next UWE meeting.
2004
We were again not able to send any of
our members to the UWE Council in Bergen, Norway. However,
two of our members
went to the IFUW Triennial Conference in Perth, Australia,
one completely, and the other mostly, at her own expense. The
Association
greatly appreciates this as they have in this way established
again the personal contacts and useful official links.
The Perth conference gave Croatia special
credit by nominating dr. Jelka Vince Pallua to the Special
Committee for Project Development as
a coordinator and evaluator of the projects for Europe.
The project supported by the grant obtained from VGIFUW in 2002
to provide equipment for an information technology workshop in
Glina was successfully finished.
2005
We were not able to attend the UWE Council
in Cork, Ireland, although we had a documentary film ready on
the Croatian
trafficking situation, which was the main topic
of the conference. The author was Mrs. Shenida Bilally, member
of
CAUW.
