Bina Roy Partners in Development - BRPID

Overview

The Bina Roy Partners in Development Programme (BRPID) encourages international solidarity and partnerships among IFUW federations and associations. Its primary goal is to support projects empowering women and girls through education and leadership development.

The IFUW Board of Officers is pleased to announce new guidelines for the Bina Roy Partners In Development Programme (BRPID). As of March 2009, the grants will be awarded to IFUW National Federations and Associations (NFAs) on a competitive basis and will no longer be linked to IFUW dues. The IFUW Board believes that this new competitive framework will help to strengthen NFA project capacity and increase their ability to obtain outside funding.

The 2009 BRPID grants will range from 1000 to 2000 Swiss francs and will cover a twelve-month period beginning 1 September 2009.  The IFUW Projects Committee will closely monitor the projects selected and will offer assistance with establishing evaluation frameworks.  Grants will be paid in three installments, the second and final payments upon submission of a mid-term report (four to six months after the commencement of the project) and a final report (within two months of the completion of the project period).

Donations from IFUW NFAs, branches and individual members received during the year one will fund projects the following year.
