How to Support BRPID

The Bina Roy Partners in Development Programme (BRPID) currently supports projects
in 32 developing countries and countries in transition.

How it works:

The Bina Roy Partners in Development Programme contributes to making IFUW a truly global organization as it enables national affiliates with limited funds to be a member of the International Federation while carrying out project working to improve the status of women and girls in their own countries.

How does this work? BRPID contributions received are used to pay 40% of the IFUW membership fees of affiliates running approved projects. These affiliates, in turn, are able to use the amount that they would have had to send to IFUW on their own projects. The support from the BRPID Programme does not cover the total amount of the IFUW membership fees owed. NFAs receiving support are required to pay 60% of their fees themselves direct to IFUW in Geneva.

Projects can include community services, fellowships, organizational development and capacity building, or other innovative programmes related to the advancement of women and girls. Wherever possible, the projects should relate to the current IFUW programme focus.

Proposals are evaluated by the IFUW Special Committee on Project Development to ensure viability, cost effectiveness, suitability and development potential. Committee Members are available to assist national affiliates in preparing project proposals.

At the end of each, NFAs receiving support must submit a monitoring form to show progress made and how the funds have been used. This information is shared with their donor partners.

IFUW members throughout the world
can support and participate in this exciting programme

By making a general contribution:

National affiliates, branches and individual members may become donor partners by sending a general contribution to the IFUW BRPID programme. (Click here for the online BRPID Financial Contribution Form)

General contributions are allocated to the projects where financial support is most needed.
At least once each year, donors receive a full report showing how the general contributions were used, with news of the projects supported.
Donors have the possibility of establishing direct links with one or more of the affiliates benefiting from general contributions. IFUW Headquarters will provide contact addresses.
Further information can be obtained from IFUW Headquarters.

By making a specific contribution:

National affiliates, branches and individual members may designate their donation for a specific project or number of projects.
Specific donations should preferably be a minimum of 150 Swiss francs.
If the project chosen has already received sufficient funding for the year, donors will given the possibility of indicating a second choice or of having their donation applied to the project where financial support is most needed.
Donors wishing to make a specific contribution are encouraged to contact IFUW Headquarters first for an updated list of the projects still requiring funding.
Donors have the possibility of establishing links with the affiliates whose project(s) they are supporting. IFUW Headquarters will provide contact addresses.
