A serious effort, nation-wide, to educate women about the political infrastructure of the country and to increasing their active participation in social and political life.

The project has three components - education, collaboration, and informational support in raising gender issues of present-day Armenian society.

Four regional centres of "Civil Society Action" will be set up for the nomination and support of women in the forthcoming parliamentary and local elections. Courses will be held on Women in Leadership and 10 one-day seminars and 20 round table discussions will be held in various regional centres, covering topics such as Women in Politics, Democracy, Development, Social Rights, Gender Equality and the UN Millenium Development Goals.

The project will be implemented by the Armenian Association of Women with University Education, and involve close cooperation with political scientists, sociologists, social philosophers, law experts, economists and other Armenian NGOs.
