Literacy Courses for Women
Members of the Nepal
Association of University Women (NAUW) are providing basic literacy
and numeracy courses for 25 women in a small rural settlement
with high unemployment and low levels of literacy. In addition,
training in potato chip making, baking and mushroom cultivation
is being given to help the women find additional sources of employment
and income. Other benefits from this action will include
training the women in small business development, and providing
awareness programmes on family planning, reproductive health.
